Police Bust Armed Robbery Syndicate In Akwa Ibom, Arrest Seven

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command recently dismantled a notorious armed robbery syndicate operating in Ikot Ekpene and its surrounding community. Seven suspects were arrested, and a firearm was recovered during the coordinated operation.

The breakthrough came after the neutralization of a gang leader, the foiling of a robbery, and the arrest of the overall leader in Imo State. The syndicate's operational base was located in Ikot Osong village, Obot Akara Local Government Area, which also served as a hideout and shrine for the members.

Items recovered included weapons, motorcycles, face masks, power banks, mobile phones, and suspected charm substances. The police urged the public to assist in tracing the owners of the recovered property and reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents in the state.
