Police Arrest Child-Stealing Gang, Rescue Three Children

The Ogun State Police Command arrested three women suspected of involvement in a child-stealing gang and rescued three children in Ibafo, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area. The suspects are Kikelomo Jimoh, 36; Kayode Elizabeth; and Blessing Anochike, 60.
The arrest followed an intelligence-led investigation initiated after a report of child stealing. During interrogation, Jimoh allegedly confessed and led detectives to Anochike’s residence, where the children were found.
The rescued children are Christiana Olowokere, 14; Olamilekan Abdurusheed, 16; and Adeniji Rebecca, 12. Preliminary findings suggest Christiana was sold for ₦500,000, while Olamilekan had previously absconded from his parents.
The circumstances surrounding Rebecca's custody remain under investigation. The police confirmed the children's safety and stated that the suspects are in custody.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for a comprehensive investigation. Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni praised the detectives for their swift response.
