Ogun Police Arrest Two for Cattle Theft and Foil Abduction

The Ogun State Police Command arrested two suspects, Abiodun Kamilu, 35, and Adesanya Segun, 37, linked to a cattle theft syndicate. This followed a distress call on July 25, 2026, regarding the theft of seven cows from a cattle yard in the Maskoli area of Sagamu.

Police operatives mobilized and intercepted suspicious vehicles on the Sagamu–Ijebu-Ode Expressway, recovering six of the stolen cows and an operational vehicle. Ongoing investigations aim to apprehend other syndicate members and recover the remaining cow.

Separately, on July 26, police foiled a suspected abduction attempt at Onigaari along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, responding to gunshots and rescuing the victim unharmed. Commissioner of Police CP Bode Ojajuni commended the officers' professionalism and reiterated the command's commitment to enhancing security through intelligence gathering and strategic patrols.
