Police Bust Kidnapping Ring in Rivers State, Nigeria; Two Suspects Arrested

The Rivers State Police Command successfully dismantled a kidnapping syndicate, arresting two suspects, Abdullahi Ibrahim and Moham Hashim, along the Ozuzu Apara Link Road in Etche LGA. The suspects, hailing from Nasarawa and Bauchi states, were found in possession of ₦2,383,000, believed to be part of the ransom paid by a victim's family.

The arrests were part of ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping activities in the state. The suspects were linked to multiple abductions, including one in Akpoku Community.

The police operation involved a fierce gun battle, resulting in the fatal shooting of two suspects, while others escaped with bullet injuries. The recovered items included a pump-action gun and the ransom money.

The police are intensifying efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects who are at large.
