Anambra Police Enforce Action Against Unregistered Plates

The Anambra State Police Command, led by Commissioner Ikioy Orutugu, has commenced an enforcement exercise targeting vehicles operating with unregistered, obscured, or altered number plates. This initiative aims to strengthen security and curb criminal activities in the state.

Vehicle owners are urged to ensure their vehicles are duly registered and that number plates are displayed visibly. The enforcement aligns with directives from Inspector General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu, who has noted a rise in cases involving unregistered vehicles and concealed number plates, which hinder identification and weaken crime prevention efforts.

The police have emphasized that using unauthorized plates or concealing registration numbers constitutes a violation of the law and will attract appropriate sanctions. The Anambra State Police Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of residents and visitors in the state, urging motorists to cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
