Adamawa Police Impound Unregistered Vehicles for Safety

The Adamawa State Police Command commenced an operation to impound vehicles lacking registered number plates, as stated by spokesperson Suleiman Nguroj. This directive, issued on Wednesday, follows concerns raised by the command regarding the increasing use of unregistered and improperly identified vehicles, which are seen as a serious security risk.

The operation is part of a special task force established under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police Abubakar Haruna, aimed at enforcing compliance with vehicle registration laws. The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has directed this initiative to curb the operation of vehicles without proper registration, which can be exploited by criminal elements.

The task force is mandated to identify and take appropriate legal action against vehicles found operating without approved registration. The command urges vehicle owners and road users to comply fully with registration requirements, emphasizing that enforcement will be carried out without fear or favor.
