Kano Police Impound 81 Vehicles for Number Plate Violations

The Kano State Police Command has impounded 81 vehicles due to violations related to number plate display as part of a statewide enforcement operation aimed at enhancing security and reducing criminal activities. The operation, codenamed "Operation Clean Plate," was disclosed by the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, during a briefing with journalists.

This initiative covers all 44 local government areas in the state and focuses on vehicles that conceal or improperly display their registration numbers, which criminals often exploit to evade identification. Bakori emphasized that the operation is not intended to harass law-abiding citizens but to ensure that all vehicles on Kano roads are properly registered and identifiable.

Additionally, three other vehicles were intercepted under suspicious circumstances, and further investigations are underway. The police command is also conducting a public enlightenment campaign to educate residents about the legal requirements for vehicle registration and number plate display.
