Nigerian Police Force Stands Firm on Tinted Glass Permit Policy, Defends Legality

The Nigerian Police Force defended its tinted glass permit policy, citing its legality under the Motor Vehicles Prohibition Tinted Glass Act 2004. The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, emphasized that the policy is crucial for crime prevention, particularly in combating kidnapping, armed robbery, and terrorism.

Hundeyin clarified that the charges for obtaining the permit support digital infrastructure services, in line with the Nigeria Police Act 2020. The statement aimed to address recent criticisms and legal challenges, asserting the policy's importance in fulfilling the police's core mandate of maintaining security and public safety.
