Osun SSG Teslim Igbalaye Arrested in Police Raid

On Wednesday, the Osun State Police Command arrested Teslim Igbalaye, the Secretary to the Osun State Government, along with five others during a raid at his residence in Osogbo. The operation was based on intelligence regarding a criminal gang's presence.

Those arrested included Oladele Abiodun, a suspect on the police watchlist, and four others: Akande Taiwo (60), Adeyemo Lukman (45), Olaoye Muftau (50), and Aderemi Musliu (40). The police recovered N4,810,500, two Permanent Voter Cards, a voter register, a Dynabook laptop, a photocopier, and a printer from the premises.

The police indicated that the recovered items raise concerns about possible electoral offences, including vote-buying and criminal conspiracy. Investigations are ongoing to identify all individuals connected to the recovered items and to determine the source and intended use of the funds.

The allegations have significant implications for public security and the integrity of the democratic process.
