TikToker Fati Cele Detained Over Boyfriend's Death in Kano

Fati Cele, a well-known TikToker with 32,000 followers, has been detained by the Kano State Police Command in connection with the death of her boyfriend, Isma Il Makay. CSP Abdullahi Haruna confirmed the arrest via WhatsApp on Saturday but did not provide further details, stating that investigations are ongoing.

Cele, who hails from Borno State, resides in a rented apartment in the Danbar area of Kano. Sources close to the deceased indicated that there were concerns raised by residents regarding a fire, which led to Makay being rushed to Nassarawa Hospital for treatment.

Following this incident, officers from the Dorayi Babba police division took Cele into custody as part of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Makay's death. Isma Il Makay was a cosmetology trader living in the Hotoro Tishama area of Kano, and his family is reportedly awaiting his burial rites.
