Anambra Police Dismiss False Report of Helicopter Activity

The Anambra State Police Command issued a statement on Thursday, debunking a viral social media report alleging military helicopter activity in the Nimo and Adazi Nnukwu communities of Aniocha Local Government Area. The police conducted immediate operations in the area following the alert, which revealed the report to be false, with no security concerns found.

Tochukwu Ikenga, the police public relations officer, reassured the public that normal activities were ongoing and that security personnel were conducting routine surveillance to ensure public safety. The Commissioner of Police for Anambra State, Ikioy Orutugu, urged residents to disregard the false alarm and refrain from spreading unverified information that could cause panic.

The police reiterated their commitment to proactive intelligence-led operations in collaboration with security agencies and community stakeholders to maintain peace and security across the state. Residents were encouraged to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
