Reps Demand IGP Produce PFIPC DG Adeyemi Adeniyi

The House of Representatives directed the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to present Adeyemi Adeniyi, who claims to be the Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), before its investigative committee within 48 hours. This order was issued during a hearing at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.

The committee is probing the PFIPC's operations, which allegedly include securing office space at the Federal Secretariat Complex and receiving a ₦1.32 billion budget allocation for 2026, despite not being legally established. Committee Chairman Yusuf Gagdi emphasized the necessity of Adeniyi's appearance due to the serious nature of the allegations against him.

The Nigeria Police Force confirmed that it is investigating petitions from the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President regarding Adeniyi's claims of being the Director-General of both the PFIPC and the Presidential Economic Advisory Council. Assistant Commissioner of Police Bashir Abdullahi stated that an eight-count charge has already been filed against Adeniyi in the Federal High Court.
