Police Foil Abduction Attempt in Kano, One Killed

On March 2, 2023, at approximately 11:30 PM, police in Kano State successfully foiled an abduction attempt in Rantan Village, located in the Bebeji Local Government Area. The operation was initiated following a distress call from residents, reporting an invasion by 15 armed hoodlums targeting the Fulani Bakwai community.

During the attack, Musa Mohd Bello, aged 25, was shot in the leg while attempting to resist the assailants. Tragically, he later succumbed to his injuries and was certified dead after being rushed to Tiga General Hospital for medical attention.

Local vigilante members collaborated with the police, swiftly mobilizing to the scene and pursuing the suspects, who fled into nearby bushes. The police have intensified efforts to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.

The community has since returned to normalcy following the security operation.
