Oyo Police Foil Kidnapping Attempt, Rescue Victim in Olorunda Village

The Oyo State Police Command thwarted a kidnapping attempt in Olorunda Village, Oyo, rescuing victim Haruna Lawal who had sustained head injuries during the incident. The police received a distress call on January 24, 2026, reporting armed suspects attempting to kidnap Lawal.

The police swiftly responded, deploying officers to the area. Through a swift and aggressive operation, the police were able to rescue Lawal within hours of the abduction, ensuring his safety.

Lawal was immediately taken to a hospital in Oyo Town for medical treatment. The Police Command commended the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for his leadership and support in the successful rescue operation.
