Police Prevent Kidnapping in Abuja, Recover AK-47

On Friday, the FCT Police Command, led by CP AHM Moham Sanusi, reported a successful operation that foiled the abduction of a couple, identified as Mr. Samson and his wife, in Abuja.

The incident took place around 12:34 PM on Thursday near the Redeem Church area in Byazhin. Acting on intelligence reports indicating the presence of suspected kidnappers, the police swiftly mobilized their Anti-Kidnap Unit to the location.

Upon arrival, the suspects attempted to forcibly enter the couple's home and opened fire on the police team, resulting in a fierce gun battle that lasted approximately thirty minutes. Despite sustaining gunshot injuries, Mr.

Samson and his wife were rescued unharmed and evacuated to safety. They received medical attention for trauma-related distress at a hospital in Gwarinpa.

The police recovered an AK-47 rifle, an AK-47 magazine, and seven rounds of live ammunition from the scene. CP Sanusi commended the bravery of the officers involved and reassured residents of the command's commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
