Sokoto Police Arrest Three in Cattle Rustling Operations

The Sokoto State Police Command successfully foiled cattle rustling operations, arresting three suspects identified as Aliyu Bello (30), Dahiru Umar (25), and Bashar Isah Yusuf (29) from Kwazari village in Kware Local Government Area. The first operation occurred on April 29, following intelligence reports about suspicious individuals on the outskirts of Tangaza town.

Police recovered an AK-47 rifle, 17 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, two Dane guns, and six charms from the suspects. A subsequent operation on May 3 thwarted an attack by armed bandits in Gidan Bubu village, Wamakko Local Government Area, where 19 cows were abandoned during a gunfire exchange.

The police also recovered 27 cows on April 30, responding to a distress call from the community. Ahmad Rufa, the police public relations officer, emphasized the importance of community collaboration in tackling insecurity and urged residents to support security agencies in their efforts.
