Police Arrest Three Suspected Bandits in Sokoto State

The Sokoto State Police Command arrested three suspected bandits identified as Aliyu Bello (30), Dahiru Umar (25), and Bashar Isah Yusuf (29) during an operation in Tangaza Local Government Area. The police acted on credible information received from a good Samaritan, which prompted intensified patrols and stop-and-search operations along the Tangaza-Gidan Madi road.

During the search, the police recovered various items, including an AK-47 rifle, an AK-47 magazine, and 17 rounds of AK-47 ammunition concealed within a sack. Additionally, the police foiled a cattle rustling incident in Gidan Bubu, Wamakko Local Government Area, where a large number of armed bandits had invaded the village.

Upon receiving intelligence about the invasion, the anti-kidnap unit mobilized a tactical team that engaged the bandits, who opened fire but fled due to superior firepower. The police recovered 19 rustled cattle during this operation.
