Police Foil Kidnapping Plot on Jigawa-Bauchi Border

On May 23, 2026, the Jigawa State Police Command, led by SP Isu Adam, successfully foiled a kidnapping plot on the Jigawa–Bauchi border, arresting two suspects, Adamu Gari, 55, and Abdullahi Adamu, 40. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were members of a syndicate allegedly involved in the kidnapping of two individuals in Jama Town.

The police are continuing their investigation and expect to apprehend additional fleeing members of the syndicate. In related operations, the police arrested three suspects linked to armed robbery on May 22, 2026, recovering an AK-47 rifle.

Further arrests were made for cattle rustling and theft, with suspects charged in court. The police have dismantled a robbery gang operating illegal roadblocks and have made significant recoveries of stolen motorcycles and livestock, reaffirming their commitment to protecting lives and property in the state.
