Nigeria Police and PAPU Collaborate on Mental Health

The Directorate of Force Medical Services has engaged in a strategic collaboration with the Pan Africa Psychology Union (PAPU) to enhance the mental health and overall well-being of Nigeria Police personnel. This initiative, led by the Pioneer Force Medical Director, AIG Nkechi Eze, aims to develop a comprehensive roadmap for improving mental health services within the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

SP Eze Chidiebere, the Force Medical PR Liaison Officer, stated that the engagement included an interactive meeting with the President of PAPU, Prof. Andrew E.

Zamani, where they explored strategic initiatives to promote the psychological well-being of police officers. The discussions highlighted the critical role of mental health in operational effectiveness, productivity, and service delivery.

The collaboration is expected to establish sustainable mental health interventions, fostering a healthier and more resilient workforce dedicated to safeguarding the lives and property of Nigerians.
