Delta Police Pursue Ignatius for Arson and Attempted Murder

The Delta State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a suspect named Ignatius, who is accused of attempted murder and arson. The incident occurred on Monday, February 23, in Okpanam, within the Asaba area of Delta State.

The victim, Juliet Opudiri, reported that Ignatius allegedly set her shop ablaze while she was inside with her foster child, Chimuanya. Juliet recounted that she was at home feeding her baby when she heard a loud noise and rushed to the window, only to see her shop on fire.

Despite efforts from neighbors and the fire service, the flames had already spread to adjacent shops. Juliet stated that Ignatius had threatened her and locked her foster child inside a caravan before igniting the fire.

She has reported the incident to the police, who confirmed that efforts are ongoing to apprehend Ignatius, who remains at large.
