Ogun Police Investigate Deadly Cult Clash in Abeokuta

The Ogun State Police Command has initiated a full-scale investigation following a violent clash between suspected rival cult groups that led to the death of a male adult in Ijemo Agbadu, Abeokuta, on Sunday. DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, spokesperson for the Ogun State Police, clarified that the incident was not connected to a political program held at the palace on the same day.

The confrontation reportedly occurred along Wasimi Ak road, near the Centenary Hall, and gunshots were heard, causing panic in the area. Police responded promptly to a distress call and found the victim, who had sustained critical gunshot injuries.

He was evacuated by the state ambulance service to the State Hospital, Ijaiy, Abeokuta, where he was confirmed dead. The police have launched an intensified manhunt for the perpetrators and are urging the public to remain calm while providing information to assist in the ongoing investigation.
