Abia Police Arrest 15 for Fake Number Plates

The Abia State Police Command, under the direction of Commissioner Danladi Isa, conducted an operation that resulted in the impounding of 15 vehicles and the arrest of 15 suspects for violations related to fake number plates. DSP Maureen Chioma Chinaka issued a statement on Saturday detailing the operation, which is part of a statewide enforcement initiative against unregistered vehicles and those displaying altered or obscured registration plates.

The police successfully identified and impounded the vehicles found in violation of vehicle registration regulations across various locations in the state. The arrested suspects are facing charges in nine cases related to the use of unregistered vehicles and improper display of registration plates.

The police command reiterated its commitment to enhancing public safety and preventing crime by closing loopholes that allow criminal elements to exploit vehicle identification. The operation will continue, and the public is encouraged to report any unprofessional conduct by police officers.
