INEC and Police Report Smooth Voting in Kano By-Election

The Kano State Police Command and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reported that voting is proceeding smoothly in the Dawakin Kudu State Constituency by-election in Kano State. Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori and Resident Electoral Commissioner Abdu Zango, along with members of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES), monitored the election across various polling units on Saturday.

They assessed the deployment of security personnel, the conduct of INEC officials, and voters’ compliance with electoral guidelines. The Police Command stated that the election was progressing peacefully, with voters behaving in an orderly manner and security operatives demonstrating professionalism and neutrality at polling units.

The REC commended the police and ICCES member agencies for their collaboration in ensuring a peaceful atmosphere. Bakori assured residents that security personnel would remain on duty until the results are collated and officially announced.
