Nigerian Police Intercept 954 Explosives Bound for Bandits in Zamfara State

The Zamfara State Police Command intercepted a vehicle carrying 954 explosives suspected to be intended for use by bandits in the state. The driver, identified as Mustapha Mohammad, was arrested during the operation conducted by the police on January 27, 2027.

The operation, led by ASP Aminu Aliyu, was part of efforts to combat illegal mining activities in the state. The explosives were concealed in polyethylene bags and were believed to be used by bandits to manufacture improvised explosive devices.

The suspect is currently in custody, and further investigations are underway to identify accomplices and determine the source and destination of the explosives. This interception comes shortly after a similar incident in Oyo State, where the police stopped a truck loaded with materials suspected to be explosive components in the Saki area of Ogun.
