Kano Police Arrest Suspect with Stolen Vehicle

On May 12, 2026, the Kano State Police Command received a distress call reporting a stolen silver Pontiac Vibe with registration number KMC 928 LK, which was heading towards Kano State from Kaduna. Following this, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa led a swift operation that involved mobilizing officers under the command of Ibrahim Bakori.

They set up a strategic roadblock along the highway in Takai Local Government Area, successfully intercepting the vehicle. The driver, Christian Ikwumesi, aged 38 from Benin, Edo State, was arrested at the scene, and preliminary investigations confirmed that the vehicle was indeed stolen from Kaduna State.

The suspect has been transferred to the Kano State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation to uncover the full extent of the criminal network involved.
