Son Arrested for Allegedly Murdering Father in Jigawa

On April 1, 2023, in Kazaur, Jigawa State, a tragic incident occurred where a 27-year-old man, Kabiru Nuhu, allegedly murdered his 60-year-old father. According to police spokesperson Shiisu Adam, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect shot his father and subsequently set his body ablaze using a flammable substance, suspected to be petrol.

The victim sustained severe burns on his forehead, arm, and toe before being rushed to a hospital, where he was later referred to a higher medical center for intensive treatment due to the injuries sustained. Kabiru Nuhu is currently in police custody and will be transferred to the state criminal investigation department for further investigation.

The Commissioner of Police for Jigawa State, Haruna Alaba Yahaya, condemned the act in strong terms and assured the public that justice would be served.
