Police Launch Manhunt for Imo Traditional Ruler's Killers

The Imo State Police Command has initiated a manhunt for the individuals responsible for the murder of Ekwuem Ochia, the traditional ruler of Ochia Kingdom, and five other unidentified victims. The attack occurred on Friday along Asa Awara Road in Ohaiji Egbema Local Government Area.

DSP Henri Okoy disclosed that the police received a distress report on April 10 at 16:30 hours regarding the armed assault. In response, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr.

Audu Bosso, deployed the command's tactical unit and collaborated with the Synergi Security Agency to locate the perpetrators. The attack resulted in the death of the monarch and the five victims, whose burnt corpses were recovered and taken to the Federal University Teaching Hospital (FUTH) Owerri for autopsy.

The police have commenced a comprehensive investigation and intensified operations to apprehend the suspects and recover any weapons involved. The command has assured the community of its commitment to maintaining peace and security in the area.
