Immigration Officer Found Dead in Calabar, Investigation Ongoing

Wofai Benson Akpama, a 30-year-old officer with the Nigeria Immigration Service, was discovered dead in his room located at No. 34 Mbora Street, Calabar. His body was found by his younger brother, who alerted the police.

Upon arrival, officers assessed the situation and documented preliminary findings, noting that there were no visible marks of violence on the body at the time of examination. There were no immediate indications of foul play.

The corpse was subsequently evacuated to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital for preservation, and a post-mortem examination is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death. The police command has confirmed that an investigation is ongoing and assured that further details will be communicated as they emerge.
