Delta Student Arrested for Illegal Firearm Possession

Dgreat Nwadozi, a 19-year-old criminology student at Osadebe University, was apprehended by the Delta State Police for possessing an illegal firearm. The arrest occurred during a stop-and-search operation in the Asaba area.

Nwadozi disclosed that he bought the locally made pistol for N320,000 in Onitsha to protect himself from harassment by Hausa individuals. He admitted to having intentions to join the "Vike" cult group.

During the interrogation, he expressed remorse for his actions. The Delta State Police Command has intensified operations against cult-related violence and illegal firearms, recently arresting 11 suspects linked to cultism and recovering various weapons.

The police warned young people against engaging in criminal activities, emphasizing the severe consequences such as imprisonment or death.
