Anambra Police Arrest Female Suspects for Trafficking Minor to Ghana

The Anambra Police Command has apprehended two female suspects, Uzoma Nwabuez and Precious Mondai, from Ozubulu, Ekwusigo LGA, for reportedly trafficking a 16-year-old girl to Ghana. The victim, Oluebub Chukwuma, was reported missing before the suspects' confession.

Following the suspects' disclosure during interrogation, the missing girl was traced to Ghana. The Anambra Police Command, through its Ozubulu Division, conducted a technology-driven operation leading to the suspects' arrest on January 26.

The suspects admitted their involvement in the minor's disappearance, prompting their immediate transfer to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Awka for further investigation. The Police spokesperson, Ikioy Orutugu, directed an inquiry into the case and the relocation of the girl from Ghana.

The incident underscores the prevalence of human trafficking and the efforts of law enforcement to combat such crimes.
