Ondo Police Arrest Two in Inter-State Car Theft Case

The Ondo State Police Command apprehended two suspects, Thankgod Unchena (25) and Adewol Muyedeen (53), involved in an inter-state car robbery. The arrest occurred on April 30, following intelligence received about a silver Hyundai vehicle reported stolen in Lagos, which was being driven towards Abuja.

Abayomi Jimoh, the police spokesperson, noted that the command employed modern policing tools, including real-time surveillance technology, to monitor the vehicle's movement. The anti-kidnap unit was swiftly deployed, leading to the suspects' arrest in the Akure North Local Government Area.

Preliminary interrogations suggest a possible link to a broader criminal network, and investigations are ongoing to uncover further connections. The suspects will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

During the journey, Muyedeen reportedly took control of the vehicle upon noticing security presence, which raised suspicion and led to their immediate arrest.
