Police Arrest Kidnapper, Recover Body of Missing Boy

The Bauchi State Police Command arrested 20-year-old Rabiu Safiyanu in connection with the kidnapping and subsequent death of four-year-old Salisu Yunusa, son of Yunusa Salisu. The boy went missing on March 18, 2023, and his father received a ransom demand of N500,000 on March 19, after paying N100,000 without the child's release.

Following the investigation, led by Nafiu Habib of the police public relations office, Safiyanu was apprehended. During interrogation, he confessed to abducting the child, strangling him, and disposing of the body at Warinj Hill.

The victim's decomposed body was later recovered from a shallow grave, showing visible marks of strangulation. The police confirmed the child's death, and the body was photographed and subsequently released to the family for burial.

The Commissioner of Police, Sani Omolori Aliyu, directed a discreet investigation and urged residents to report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
