Bauchi Police Recover Abducted Child's Corpse

The Bauchi State Police Command reported the recovery of the corpse of four-year-old Yunusa Salisu, who had been abducted on March 18, 2026. His father, Salisu Yunusa, reported the child missing and received a ransom demand of N500,000 from an unknown caller on March 19.

After paying N100,000, the child was not released, prompting an investigation that led to the arrest of 20-year-old Rabiu Safiyanu. During interrogation, Safiyanu confessed to abducting and strangling the child, burying the body in a shallow grave at Warinj Hill.

The police found visible signs of strangulation and a rope at the crime scene. The child's decomposed body was later recovered, and a clinic confirmed his death.

The police have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. Additionally, the command announced the arrest of four siblings connected to the alleged killing of a security guard in Jama Local Government Area.
