Police Arrest Motorcycle Theft Suspect in Yobe State

On March 3, 2026, the Yobe State Police Command apprehended a suspect named Lukman Inusa, 27, believed to be part of a motorcycle theft syndicate operating in northern Nigeria. The arrest took place at the Potiskum Division Police Headquarters following intelligence reports regarding Inusa's involvement in motorcycle theft and burglary.

Dungu Abdulkarim, the police public relations officer, disclosed that Inusa resides in the Potiskum local government area. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect specialized in stealing motorcycles across Yobe and Bauchi states.

Inusa confessed to his crimes, assisting police in recovering five motorcycles, which are believed to be part of a total of ten motorcycles allegedly stolen. The police are currently working to identify and contact the rightful owners of the recovered motorcycles and have intensified efforts to recover the remaining stolen bikes.

Emmanuel Ado, a police spokesperson, commended the public for providing information that aided the arrest and urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
