Police Arrest Suspected Kidnap Kingpin in Ondo State

The Ondo State Police Command announced the arrest of Abdullahi Lawal Aderoju, a suspected kidnap kingpin, who had previously escaped from a gun battle with bullet wounds. The police spokesperson, Abayomi Jimoh, disclosed that Aderoju was identified as the mastermind behind the kidnapping of Aremu Tijani, which occurred on August 18, 2025, at Tijani's bush farm in Ikar Akoko.

Following the incident, police operations led to the neutralization of three gang members and the arrest of four others, but Aderoju managed to escape despite sustaining gunshot injuries during the encounter. After intensifying efforts to track him down, police operatives successfully apprehended him in Ikar Akoko.

The operation was coordinated based on sustained intelligence gathered by security personnel.
