Police and NSCDC Investigate Civil Defence Volunteer Death

A civil defence volunteer lost their life during an empowerment program held in Tudun Wada Local Government Area, Kano State, on March 13, 2026. The incident occurred during a palliative distribution event organized by members representing Doguwa Tudun Wada Federal Constituency, specifically Alhassan Ado Doguwa.

Following the attack by hoodlums, the Kano State Police Command, under the direction of Commissioner Ibrahim Bakori, has initiated a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible. Police Public Relations Officer Abdullahi Kiyawa confirmed the death and stated that the victim was rushed to Tudun Wada General Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The NSCDC Kano State Command also expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and has commenced its own investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. The police have urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies as the investigation continues.
