Troops Arrest Cult Members, Recover Pistol in Ebonyi

On March 25, at approximately 9:25 PM, troops deployed from a forward operating base in Ikwo, Ebonyi State, responded to a distress call regarding gunshots associated with suspected cult activities around the Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo. Upon arrival, the troops apprehended three individuals who were found in possession of a knife and scissors.

During preliminary interrogation, the suspects allegedly disclosed information about accomplices who possessed illegal firearms. The troops proceeded to search the suspects' accommodation, where they discovered a locally made pistol concealed inside a handbag located in one suspect's wardrobe.

Efforts are ongoing to track and arrest the fleeing accomplices, while the three apprehended individuals remain in custody for further investigation and possible prosecution.
