Osun Police Parade 19 Suspects Over Assault on Officers

The Osun State Police Command, led by Mr. Ibrahim Gotan, paraded 19 suspects in connection with the assault on police personnel during a boundary dispute between Ilobu and Erin communities.

The incident involved an attack on officers who were intervening in a violent confrontation linked to long-standing land ownership issues. A video circulated on social media showed an individual in police uniform being assaulted and forced to kneel, which drew public outrage.

Mr. Gotan stated that the command would not tolerate any form of lawlessness and would ensure that all individuals involved, regardless of their status, would face the full weight of the law.

The police have arrested a total of 19 suspects in relation to this incident, with additional arrests expected as investigations continue. The command reiterated its commitment to maintaining order and justice in Osun State.
