Police Investigate Alwan Hassan Over $10m Bribery Allegations Against Senate Leaders

Alwan Hassan is being probed by the police for accusing Senate leaders, including Godswil Akpabio and Barau Jibrin, of receiving a $10 million bribe to obstruct the confirmation of Abdullahi Garba Ramat as the Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission. The Senate has dismissed the bribery claims as false and misleading, with Senator Yemi Adaramodu stating that the allegations are baseless.

The police have summoned Hassan to provide evidence to support his accusations against the Senate officials.
