Ogun Police Investigate Farmland Destruction Claims

The Ogun State Police Command has commenced an investigation into allegations of farmland destruction, criminal intimidation, and suspected land grabbing in the Ajogbo Akia community. This action follows concerns raised by the community's traditional leadership and residents regarding the activities of suspected land grabbers.

Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni has mandated an immediate and thorough investigation to ascertain the facts, identify those responsible for any criminal acts, and ensure justice for victims. The police clarified that disputes over land titles and ownership claims are civil matters, to be resolved in courts, but individuals with legitimate land ownership can report criminal acts to the police.

To prevent law and order breakdown, the command has instructed Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to enhance patrols in the area. The police reiterated their zero-tolerance stance against illegal land grabbing and commended community leaders for seeking law enforcement intervention instead of resorting to violence.

Residents are urged to cooperate with investigators to promote lasting peace in Ajogbo Akia and Ogun State.
