Kano Police Arrest 193 Suspects in Major Raids

The Kano State Police Command executed a series of raids on identified criminal hideouts from April 10 to 12, 2026, leading to the arrest of no fewer than 193 suspects. The operation was confirmed by the State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, and was part of a broader strategy directed by Inspector General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu to enhance surveillance and visible patrols in the state.

During the raids, various dangerous weapons were recovered, including 51 cutlasses, 15 sharp knives, 41 clubs, and 72 rubber solutions, along with 69 sachets of pregabalin and 259 exol tablets, as well as a large quantity of Indian hemp. Bakori commended the officers involved for their professionalism and resilience and urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.

The police reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring Kano State remains safe and secure for law-abiding citizens.
