Kano Police to Target 2,000 Identified Drug Dealers

The Kano State Police Command announced on Tuesday its intention to clamp down on identified drug dealers within the state. Police Commissioner Ibrahim Adamu Bakori revealed that the command has compiled a list of 2,000 suspected drug dealers, whose names have appeared multiple times in profiling efforts.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to leverage technology and community support in combating crime. The police are currently verifying the names on the list and plan to take decisive action soon.

The command aims to demonstrate its commitment to reducing crime rates significantly, including tackling issues such as thuggery, banditry, and resolving farmer-herder clashes. The police also intend to arrest and prosecute suspects while recovering stolen property as part of their efforts to enhance security in Kano State.
