Nasarawa Police Recover Two Stolen Vehicles

On March 17, 2025, the Nasarawa State Police Command successfully recovered two stolen vehicles: a black Toyota Prado SUV with registration number YAB 81 KC, and a silver Pontiac Vibe with registration number NBB 52 TT. The recovery followed a distress call received at 4:26 PM regarding the stolen Toyota Prado, which was heading towards Lafia from Abuja.

Upon receiving this information, the Commissioner of Police, Shetima Moham, promptly deployed an operation team, including personnel from the anti-kidnap unit, to the area near Izallah Mosque in Mararaba Akunza, Lafia. Despite a thorough search, the suspects managed to flee.

Additionally, on March 16, 2025, the command received credible intelligence about unidentified young men suspected of stealing vehicles near the Assemblies of God Church in Mararaba, Karu LGA. The police mobilized to the scene, but the suspects fled in the Pontiac Vibe.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the Pontiac Vibe belonged to a Nigerian Correctional Service officer, and the police urged the public to report any suspicious activities.
