Police Find Second Body After Accord Chieftain's Murder

The Osun State Police Command reported the recovery of a second body at Mayfair Motor Park in Ile-Ife, two days after the murder of Accord Party chieftain Olalekan Oyeyemi, also known as Emir Ajagungbade. Eyewitness accounts indicated that Oyeyemi was shot dead during a clash at the park.

Police spokesperson Abiodun Ojelabi confirmed that the remains were taken to a morgue and that the park is closed under the orders of Governor Ademola Adeleke. The Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Zungura, assured that all involved would face legal consequences.

The violence is connected to a faction within the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) attempting to install Oyeyemi as the next Osun State chairman. A rival faction, led by a figure named Sibi, opposed this move.

Osun Commissioner for Transportation, Sesan Oyedele, denied claims that he summoned union leaders to support Oyeyemi's chairmanship bid, stating that the meeting occurred shortly before the murder.
