Police Arrest Suspect, Recover Firearms in Lagos Operation

The Lagos State Police Command conducted a routine stop-and-search operation in the Aguda area, resulting in the arrest of a 22-year-old suspect named Olamid Suleiman. During the operation on Adetola Road, police officers recovered dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

A further search of Suleiman's bag revealed a locally made pistol loaded with live cartridges. During interrogation, Suleiman confessed that the pistol belonged to an alleged accomplice identified as Simpli Emir.

Following this, police conducted an intelligence operation at Stai Hotel in Aguda, where they searched rooms allegedly occupied by the suspect. This operation led to the recovery of a double-barrel gun.

However, the principal suspect, Simpli Emir, managed to escape. The Lagos State Police Command has stated that investigations are ongoing, and efforts are being intensified to apprehend the fleeing suspect and dismantle the criminal gang.
