Police Repel Lakurawa Attack in Kebbi, No Casualties

On a Saturday, the Police in Kebbi, represented by Public Relations Officer Bashir Usman, reported that they successfully repelled an attack in Lakurawa. The incident involved an attempt by assailants to disguise their approach under the cover of darkness while herding cattle.

The Police Counter Terror Unit (CTU) was alerted and swiftly engaged the attackers, forcing them to retreat. During the exchange of gunfire, temporary security structures were damaged; however, there were no lives lost or injuries recorded.

The police have reinforced security in the area to maintain calm and control. Usman issued a warning to residents, especially herders and livestock owners, against moving cattle at night, as this could exploit criminal activities.

He emphasized that security agencies would take firm legal action against any suspicious movements linked to unlawful activities related to nighttime grazing.
