Police Rescue Victim, Arrest Seven in Kogi Bus Attack

On April 13, 2026, at approximately 8:30 PM, gunmen attacked a bus belonging to Chisco Transport Company, identified by the registration number KJA 405 YJ, while it was traveling from Lagos to Abuja along Ayer Kabba Road in Kabba Local Government Area, Kogi State. The Kogi State Police Command confirmed the rescue of one victim, identified as Adoun Juliu, a 56-year-old individual.

In response to the attack, the police, led by ASP Saliu Oyiza, conducted a swift operation that resulted in the arrest of seven suspects connected to the kidnapping incident. The vehicle involved in the attack was recovered and taken to police facilities for further investigation.

Joint security forces, including police and military agencies, intensified efforts to rescue the remaining abducted passengers. The police urged residents to remain calm and vigilant, encouraging them to provide credible information to assist ongoing operations while assuring that such information would be treated with strict confidentiality.
