Edo Police Rescue 11 Kidnap Victims in Ogbido Community

On Saturday, the Edo State Police Command announced the rescue of 11 kidnap victims from Ogbido Community in Iyahmo, Edo North. The victims had been abducted while working on a farm.

A distress call prompted the police division, led by Eno Ikoedem, to launch a rescue operation alongside local vigilante hunters. During the operation, the rescue team encountered kidnappers in a forest, leading to a fierce gun battle.

The superior firepower and tactical response of the police overwhelmed the kidnappers, who subsequently abandoned their captives and fled the scene. The rescued individuals included nine males and two females, with ages ranging from 24 to 48 years.

After the rescue, the victims were taken to the hospital for medical examinations and later reunited with their families. The Commissioner of Police, Mondai Agbonika, commended the police and local hunters for their swift action and assured the public of intensified operations to ensure safety in the area.
