Police Rescue 15 Kidnap Victims in Kogi State Operations

On August 10, 2026, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) rescued 15 kidnap victims in Kogi State following an intelligence-led operation. The Kogi State Police Command engaged suspected kidnappers in a gun duel, neutralizing some while others escaped with injuries.

The rescued victims were debriefed and reunited with their families, with further investigations being conducted by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Lokoja. Additionally, on the same day, police tactical operatives in Benue State foiled a bandit attack at Tse Udi Community, neutralizing one bandit and recovering an AK-47 rifle with 17 rounds of ammunition.

Other operations across various states led to the arrest of suspects involved in shootings, cult activities, and robbery, with firearms and stolen vehicles recovered. The SCID in respective states is conducting further investigations into these incidents.
