Police Rescue 75 Abducted Travellers in Kaduna Operation

On August 19, at approximately 5:30 PM, the Kaduna State Police Command reported the rescue of 75 Fulani travellers who had been abducted by unknown gunmen armed with AK-47 rifles while travelling in commercial buses. The police received credible information from the Birnin Gwari branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), prompting a swift response.

A crack team from the Birnin Gwari Area Command was deployed to the location where the victims were concealed in a cave within a mountainous area. Upon sighting the heavily armed police operatives, the kidnappers fled, leaving the victims unharmed.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, commended the NURTW for their timely information and praised the Area Commander of Birnin Gwari and his operatives for their professional response. He urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police, cautioning against taking the law into their own hands.
